U19-World Cup 2022 Four Rising Stars Players Ready to Shine in the 2023 World Cup
Cricket Time Now, World Cup 2023: Many legendary cricketers have emerged through the Under-19 ICC tournament. The last U-19 World Cup was held in 2022. That year, the Indian U-19 team was crowned champions under the leadership of Yash Dhull. After the World Cup, many Under-19 cricketers are now playing regularly for their national team and they can also make it to the national team for this year’s ODI World Cup 2023. Here are four such cricketers discussed today.
a) Matheesha Pathirana
Mathisha Pathirana is one of the youngest talents in Sri Lankan cricket. Already, like Lasith Malinga, his bowling technique has impressed everyone. Mathisha Pathirana has been a standout performer for Chennai Super Kings in the IPL this year. He has played 4 matches for the national team in ODI cricket so far. Mathisha Pathirana was part of Sri Lanka’s squad for the 2022 Under-19 World Cup. The Sri Lankan pacer could get a place in the national team in this year’s World Cup.
b) Dunith Wellalage
Young cricketer Dunith Wellag led Sri Lanka in the 2022 Under-19 World Cup. Then he made his debut for the national team. So far, Dunith Wellage has scored 109 runs in 9 matches for the Sri Lankan national team. He is also an important left-arm spinner. The young batsman could come to India for Sri Lanka in this year’s World Cup.

c) Noor Ahmad
Noor Ahmed was an important part of the Afghanistan team in the 2022 Under-19 World Cup. Since then, the young cricketer has played 3 ODIs and 1 T20 match for Afghanistan in the national team. Noor Ahmed also has a lot of experience in the IPL. Noor took 16 wickets in 13 matches in this tournament. So with the World Cup being held in India this year, the Afghan spinner can get a chance in the national team.
d) Dewald Brevis
South Africa plays as a tough opponent in any ICC tournament. They have already started preparing for the ODI World Cup. Brevis has been called up for the first time for South Africa in the five-match ODI series against Australia starting September 7. He was in fine form at the 2022 Under-19 World Cup. The Braves have the most runs scored in this World Cup. He scored 506 runs in 6 matches, including two centuries and three half-centuries. He could get a place in South Africa’s squad for this year’s World Cup.
