Team India ODI World Cup Squad 2023: BCCI Announced Team India ICC ODI World Cup Squad 2023
Team India ODI World Cup Squad 2023: One of the most significant sporting events in the world is the quadrennial ICC Cricket World Cup. It’s held every four years and is among the most-watched sports tournaments on the planet.
The ICC ODI World Cup 2023 will commence from October 5. This season is also special because it’s being hosted in India, a country where the sport is beloved by every stratum of society and players are worshipped like idols.
The game is just a month away, and fans are eagerly waiting to see the action of their favorite teams and players. Most countries have announced their official squads, but India has not. But ending that wait, the BCCI today announced the 15-member squad of the Indian team.
Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill, Virat Kohli, Jasprit Bumrah, Shreyas Iyer, Hardik Pandya, Mohammed Shami, Mohammed Siraj, Ravindra Jadeja are automatic choices. There were two questions. One, how many spinners will India have in the 15-man World Cup squad? And two, since Rishabh Pant will not be available, who will be the wicketkeeper-batsman? India has come to play with three spinners in the ongoing Asia Cup. Ravindra Jadeja, Kuldeep Yadav and Axar Patel. Yuzvendra Chahal has been dropped. Ravichandran Ashwin was also denied a place. Washington Sundar’s name was also discussed during the selection of the Asia Cup team. But in the end, he did not get a place in the team. Ashwin has not been a regular in limited-overs cricket for many days. So maybe he didn’t make the World Cup squad. Yuzvendra Chahal also suffered a burn on his forehead.
For some time now, there have been reports in various quarters that the senior selection committee has finalized the names of 15 players before the official team of Team India is announced. Sanju Samson, Tilak Verma, and Prasidh Krishna are among the three players who have been dropped from the World Cup squad. All three players made it to Team India for the Asia Cup 2023.
Several major countries, including Australia, have already announced their 15-man squad for the 2023 World Cup. All eyes are now on the host country India. After that, all teams will have the opportunity to make changes to their teams without any approval until September 27, but after that, they will have to get the approval of the Event Technical Committee for any changes to the team.
