From the first over, both openers came out with an aggressive mentality against Sri Lanka. Rohit Sharma, in particular, was seen batting aggressively from the first over today. On one hand, Shubman was enjoying Rohit’s batting. In the meantime, Captain Hitman scored 10,000 runs in ODI cricket.
India won the toss and elected to bat at the Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. The Indian batsmen, who had crushed Pakistan’s strong pace bowling unit the previous day, still dominate today. The following story, of course, is only Dunith Wellalage’s.

Wellalage short-length ball was played at square leg and could not connect properly with the ball on the bat. He was caught at short mid-wicket. His innings ended with just 3 runs off 12 balls. He took three wickets in the first three overs to put the batsmen under pressure.

Rahul made a mistake to read the left-arm spinner and failed his wicket, Wellalage took the catch in his hand. The unbeaten champion of the previous match stopped the day with a 44-ball 39. Asalanka brought back Ishan in the 35th over. Ishan was caught by Dunith Wellalage while trying to hit it with a short extra cover. He played 61 balls, and 33 runs came from his bat.
In the next over, Dunith Wellalage came back into the attack and showed Hardik Pandya the way to the dressing room. The 20-year-old, who made his debut against Australia last year, made his first appearance in his 13th ODI. Asalanka started again from where Wellalage finished. Ravindra Jadeja, Jasprit Bumrah, and Kuldeep Yadav were dismissed one by one. India lost 9 wickets for 186 runs. The team, which scored 356 runs for the loss of just two wickets in the previous match, was in danger of being all out before scoring 200 runs on the day.
